Howdy all,

Welcome to my first post to the new mailing list. Thanks for
subscribing to it!

Lots of stuff going on last week and this week! I will separate it
into a couple of categories.

New CD Has Been Released!
-------------------------
My new CD, 'Mistaken Identity', arrived at my apartment a week ago and
since then has been released upon the world. If you want your very
own copy, you have a few options:

- If you don't need an actual CD but would be happy with a
downloadable version of the recordings, you can get them from my
DigStation account at <http://www.digstation.com/AlbumDetails.aspx?albumID=ALB000036672
>. You can also listen to sound samples there.

- If you live in Rhode Island, you can track me down at a show or
something and buy one from me directly. Alternatively, there are
copies for sale at Frog & Toad on Hope Street and What Cheer Antiques
on South Angell. And of course you can come to the CD release party
on November 17. In all cases, the CDs cost $10. For more
information, see <http://music.jwgh.org/gigs.html>.

- If you don't live in Rhode Island, you can mail order a copy for $11
using Paypal. See <http://music.jwgh.org/gigs.html> and click on the
'Buy Now' button to take advantage of this option.

- If you live in central Massachusetts, in addition to the options
listed above you can also come to my CD release party in Sturbridge on
November 21 next month and buy one there. See below for more
information about the show.

Eventually the CD should also be available in other places (such as in
the iTunes Music Store) but that may take a while.

I've scheduled two CD release parties, one in Providence and one in
Sturbridge, each with a different lineup of really excellent musicians
who have agreed to help make these shows ones to remember. I hope you
all can make it to at least one of them! The full information for
both shows is below.

Upcoming Shows for October and November
---------------------------------------
Don't worry, I'll send out reminders for the shows after the one
that's this coming weekend, but since I'm listing the release parties
next month I thought I might as well include the other shows I've got
planned for this month and the next. As always, you can see
everything I currently have scheduled at <http://music.jwgh.org/gigs.html
>.

Saturday October 17 -- AFRO-POP SHOW / OLNEYVILLE FALL FESTIVAL
-------------------
WHERE: The Olneyville Fall Festival, Riverside Park, Providence, RI
WHEN: Noon

The Double Decker Dance Band featuring Joseph Paye will be opening the
Olneyville Fall Festival with 45 minutes of afro-pop dance music.

Saturday October 31 -- ELECTRIC KILLDEVILS HALLOWEEN SHOW
-------------------
WHERE: Nick-a-Nees, 75 South Street, Providence, RI
WHEN: 9:30 pm to 12:30 am

The Killdevils have been hard at work learning some seasonally
appropriate songs, plus a few seasonally inappropriate ones. And of
course we'll also be playing your old favorites. Come on down, bring
your werewolf, and enjoy a meatball sandwich!

Sunday November 1 -- THE EMPIRE REVUE
-----------------
WHERE: AS220, 115 Empire Street, Providence, RI
WHEN: 8 pm to 10 pm
COVER: $8

The Empire Revue is a cabaret/variety show which is held on the first
Sunday of every month. It's always a good time, and I hope you can
make it! I will be singing a song which implies that the audience
doesn't really exist.

Saturday November 7 -- ELECTRIC KILLDEVILS SHOW
-------------------
WHERE: Two Jerks Pub and Grill, 446 Waterman Avenue, East Providence, RI
WHEN: 9 pm to midnight

The Killdevils's favorite bar in Providence is, of course, Nick-a-
Nees. With this show, could it be that Two Jerks could become the
Nick-a-Nees of East Providence? Come and find out!

Saturday November 12 -- SOLO SHOW
--------------------
WHERE: The Ruffstone Tavern, 17 Metcalf Ave, North Providence, RI
WHEN: 9 pm

This RIC hangout is now the site of a monthly singer-songwriter night
hosted by Allysen Callery, who has kindly asked me to play there in
November. There will also be other acts TBA.

Tuesday November 17 -- **PROVIDENCE CD RELEASE PARTY WITH JON
CAMPBELL, HANNAH DEVINE, AND THE KILLDEVILS!**
-------------------
WHERE: Everyman Bistro, 555 Valley Street, Providence, RI 02908
WHEN: 8 pm-11 pm

Come celebrate the release of my first professionally-done CD,
'Mistaken Identity'! There will be half-priced appetizers and a beer
special and perhaps some other surprises. Helping me to celebrate,
excellent local acts Jon Campbell, Hannah Devine, and the electric
Killdevils have agreed to join me (I will also play solo). I'm
planning to have a blast; come on out and have one too!

Thursday November 19 -- ELECTRIC KILLDEVILS SHOW W/SPECIAL GUESTS JACK
HANLON AND CHRIS TURNER
--------------------
WHERE: Nick-a-Nees, 75 South Street, Providence, RI
WHEN: 9 pm to midnight

With our usual bass player Jeff Keithline unfortunately unavailable,
we took the opportunity to ask Jack Hanlon of the Amazing Crowns to
sit in on bass, and harmonica wizard Chris Turner will also be joining
us for much of the night. Expect a night of rockabilly and blues!

Saturday November 21 -- **MASSACHUSETTS CD RELEASE PARTY WITH KATE
KATZBERG, ANNE'S CORDIAL, AND THE SUPERCHIEF TRIO!**
--------------------
WHERE: Pioneer Brewing Company at Hyland Orchard, 199 Arnold Road,
Sturbridge, MA 01518
WHEN: 6-10 pm

An early evening show with excellent (so I'm told) locally-produced
beer. There'll be a potluck, so if you haven't had dinner bring
something to share and there should be some tasty food to eat ... (I
plan to bring some bread, a pizza or two, and perhaps a homemade pie
if there's time.)

I asked some talented friends to help me celebrate and they agreed to
help out, so Kate Katzberg, Anne's Cordial, and the Superchief Trio
will also be performing. There'll be lots of great music, so I hope
you can make it!

And that's about it for October and November, at least for now. Hope
to see you around!

So long,
Jacob Haller
