[JakeShows] Music livestream tonight, plus special birthday streams next week

Hi all,

I’m turning 50 a week from Friday, hooray! (?)

I’ll be doing my usual Thursday night music stream (6:30-7:15 pm US Eastern time at twitch.tv/jwghaller <http://twitch.tv/jwghaller>) both tonight and next week, and have put together a list of songs people can request at https://www.streamersonglist.com/t/jwghaller/ .

To request a song, you’ll need to have a twitch account (see http://music.jwgh.org/twitch.html <http://music.jwgh.org/twitch.html> for instructions on how to sign up for one). Then, when you go to https://www.streamersonglist.com/t/jwghaller/ <https://www.streamersonglist.com/t/jwghaller/> , click on ’Sign In’ in the upper right corner, and there should be an option to link to your twitch account. Once you’re signed in, you can then click on ‘Request’ next to one of the songs on the web page, and I’ll play it!

As with all things related to streaming, the process is overly complicated and a little annoying — but, I’m hoping that, as people get used to it, it will be a fun way to participate in the livestreams.

So those are my music plans. For everything else, here’s what I’ve got planned streamingwise for next week on twitch.tv/jwghaller <http://twitch.tv/jwghaller> ! All times are in the US Eastern time zone.

Tue May 24, 6:30 pm: Figure and other drawings! 

For the last few weeks, I’ve been doing some art streams, where I usually start with some life drawings using youtube videos, and then spend a bit more time drawing whatever seems interesting. The most recent one was a plush stegosaurus I got in the mail. Who can say what I’ll draw next?

Wed May 25, 9 pm-1 am: I’ll be playing various games with some streaming pals!

I’ve invited various streamers, podcasters, and online friends to play the games with me. We’ll be playing Gartic Phone (a version of that game where everyone writes down a short description of something, and passes it to the person on their right, who then has to draw it and pass the drawing on to the next person, who has to describe the drawing, and so on, until it goes all the way around the circle) and probably some Jackbox and other party games.

Thu May 26, 6:30-7:15 pm: I’ll play music. 

This is technically not birthday-related, since I do this every week, but I’m hoping folks will tune in!

Also Thu May 26, 8 pm: I’ll be doing a watch-a-long of the Good Omens TV show, starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen!

The general idea is that you will go to twitch.tv/jwghaller <http://twitch.tv/jwghaller> and I’ll broadcast Good Omens on my twitch channel, as I and anyone else who cares to can type in comments and chat. You’ll need a twitch account to comment.

The Watch Parties feature requires you to have an Amazon Prime account. If you don’t have Prime, then let me know, and I might be able to set you up with a backchannel access to the stream. (Shhhh!)
