Jim,

Many, many years ago (the teens or 20's), the street that crosses over the
railroad between the passenger station and the Tower was named Randolph St.
That street is now Williamson Rd. Many old names still persist to this day
on the railroad.

In a posting several months ago, I was told by several listers that the
interlocking tower just east of Roanoke station (now Link Museum), sitting
almost directly under the US 221 highway bridge, was called "Randolph
Street" tower. Am curious why this is the case, when Randolph St. does not
appear to be nearby on the map.
