Ed,

Your impression about the N & W's only double slip switch agrees with my article in the Sep/Oct issue of The Arrow. Incidentally, the circle and caption that I had included to identify the location of the double slip switch in Figure 1 of that article were mysteriously omitted when the article was published.

If I'm not mistaken, that was the only slip switch on the old N&W. The only other ones N&W passenger trains encountered were at Cincinnati Union Terminal (I don't think there were any at Columbus, either).
