Odd Unit

I am about wrapped up on my article about displayed cabooses in this area
but have hit a "puzzlement". Should the item along the Virginia Creeper
Trail in Taylors Valley be called a "caboose"? It looks like an ex-boxcar
or a camp car to my eye. Recent pix attached. Any history on it would be
helpful.
