I'm not sure what a standard consist would be, but a business train can be seen in the video "Vignettes Of The Norfolk And Western" from Clear Block. It consists of a power car (ex-Wabash streamlined baggage car), coach (likely P3), D1 diner, sleeper/dormitory (probably Hollins College [this is the second car with that name, not the original 10-6]), office car, and Alta Vista (theater/track inspection car). I imagine the power car, diner, and one office car would be in every train. Depending on the purpose of the train, length of trip, and number of people, a coach, dorm, Alta Vista, and additional office cars could be used.

With all the talk of the maroon units I've been wondering what the standard consist of the business train was in the diesel era. Would anybody have any info on the cars used and the usual consist especially from the 64 mergers through the NS merger?
