Abram:  During an NWHS Convention based at Williamson ( year ? ); I drove almostthe entire length of the Twelve Pole Line.  Went both directions through a tunnel nearthe 'south' end.  The tunnel is single lane; first vehicle to the portal has right of way.Do not have current information as to condition of the road; but found the drivechallenging and interesting.  If you do try it:  Have fun !

Subject: Twelve Pole Line Abaodnoment

The Twelve Pole Line (Naugatuck to Kenova) has fascinated me since the early 1960s, when I talked to men who had worked over it.
Today, quite by chance, I ran across the ICC abandonment authorization document.  It is Finance Document 9207, issued in 1934, and covering two hearings held in 1933.  The line was abandoned late in 1933.  The document was published in ICC Reports, vol. 193, 1934.
I believe the original Twelve Pole Line R/W now supports a vehicle road, and can be driven, and that at least one of the tunnels is used for the vehicular road.  If anyone has made this trip my motor vehicle, I would like to hear about it, as I am considering doing the same.
   ICC document attached,
