.  The VGN pier, at Sewells Point, was retired almost immediately after the acquisition.  
Not exactly.  The dumper may not have been involved, but the pier was.  N&W continuedto operate VGN symbols 71 and 72 via Victoria to Sewells Point.  At Jarratt, No. 72 wouldpick up rip-rap from a quarry near Emporia.  It was taken to the Sewells Point pier andtransferred to barges for delivery to the then-under construction Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.
