Thanks to my friend Gene for forwarding me this story of real life railroad police. Most of us think about what a fun job it would be to ride around in a railroad police vehicle looking at trains and arresting a hobo every now and then. After reading this story I know that you will have a completely different respect for the dangers the railroad police face in everyday duties.
If you are ever trackside and see any suspicious activities going on please call the local police or the railroad police. It’s a great idea to have the area railroad police phone numbers programmed in your cell phones. Remember to watch and be alert when around trains. Trespassing on railroad property is against the law.
Stay well and safe,
Norris
