In the TV special of the rehearsals before the blues tour one could see EC 
make comments about Newmark's drumming. Something like - "You have to always 
be prepared (...)". He wanted Newmark to reduce the tempo when he got to a 
solo part and was having a good time. Although this isn't proof of EC's 
dislike regarding Newmark it shows that the co-operation wasn't perfect...
