The latest Classic Rock magazine (March 2011) has EC on the cover and contains three articles about him:

Harry Shapiro, "The Guitar Hero," Classic Rock (UK), March 2011 (Issue #155), pp. 40-49.

Various, "Clapton's 20 Greatest Moments," Classic Rock (UK), March 2011 (Issue #155), pp. 50-55.

Charles Shaar Murray, "Did It All Go Wrong?" Classic Rock (UK), March 2011 (Issue #155), pp. 56-59.

The feature article, by Harry Shapiro, makes a coup[le of important points:

1. John Mayall With Eric Clapton, "Blues Breakers," was recorded in March 1966, NOT April or May, but March 1966. "Vernon describes the set-up on the first day of recording , in March 1966" (Shapiro, p. 47).

2. Clapton did NOT use a Dallas RangeMaster treble booster. "Arguments among guitar freaks have raged down the years as to whether or not Eric used a Dallas Rangemaster treble booster in the studio. Well, the answer is no, he didn't -- and that's straight from the source." (Shapiro, p. 47).
