Commissioner of Administration Jerry Luke LeBlanc closes more state offices
as Hurricane Rita approaches

Commissioner of Administration Jerry Luke LeBlanc this afternoon announced
the closure of state offices in 10 south central Louisiana parishes
following the earlier closure of state offices in 11 parishes in the
southwestern region of the state. The Commissioner, this morning announced
the closure of state office as of today, Thursday, September 22, 2005 with
reopening planned for Monday, September 26, 2005.

Closed immediately until Monday, September 26, 2005 are offices in:

Acadia
Allen
Beauregard
Cameron
Calcasieu
Iberia
Jeff Davis
Lafayette
St. Martin
St. Mary
Vermilion

Commissioner LeBlanc later today announced the closure of state offices
beginning Friday, September 23, 2005 in the parishes of:

Assumption
Evangeline
Iberville
Lafourche
Natchitoches
Rapides
Sabine
St. Landry
Terrebonne
Vernon

Essential personnel should report to work as directed by their supervisors.
Those offices closed immediately in southwestern Louisiana and those set to
be closed tomorrow more in the south central part of the state, are all
scheduled to reopen on Monday, September 26, 2005 after the passage of
Hurricane Rita.
State employees in all of these parishes are urged to monitor local media.
For situational updates, state employees are also encouraged to frequently
