Carol,

The testing information from EPA suggests that with proper protection
including rubber gloves, rubber boots, a tyvek like suit, respirator, eye
protection, and lots of fluids for hydration you should be ok.

Risks dur to short term exposure are more related to direct contact- so use
proper protection and take frequent breaks.

A church group has offered to clean out my house, but I have a
significant amount of oil both inside and outside of my home. According
to this e-mail, it is safe for people to be in the oil sludge without
any risks to their health. I could not, with a good conscience, allow
this group to assist me in this endeavor if there is any chance their
health could be in jeopardy. Has there been any testing done besides by
the CTEH? Are there any other test results that should be considered?
Thank you for your assistance.
