Pattie,

Point taken, but we are not releasing information about our residents.

Westly,

Are you sure this is legit? In addition to contacting this person, I would
like to contact whomever this guy claims gives him the authority or
credentials or whatever. For example, if this guy claimed to be from an
insurance company, you should be able to contact the state commissioner of
insurance to verify his license to do business in the state of Louisiana.
Since Katrina, I must get 4-5 e-mails per week telling me to update my
banking info -- all they need is my SS# and an account #. If this guy is
legit, I don't understand why he would not have access to the info he needs
- thorough standard operating procedures. I am particularly leery of anyone
giving out info -- especially when the request is for something as broad as
a "list". With signs stating "we buy property" already going up in the
Parish, I am extremely skeptical. As far as leaving banks or mortgage
companies "holding the bag" is concerned, any checks issued by an insurance
company for a property with a lien on it probably will be issued jointly -
in the name of the bank/mortgage company and the homeowner. Please, if you
are in contact with parish officials, please urge them to avoid being too
helpful in distributing "lists" of information regarding parish residents
and the status of their mortgages -- delinquent or otherwise.

Thanks.

By the way, I enjoy reading these e-mails -- you are doing a very nice job.
I'll go back to lurking for now.

Pattie
