I wouldn't say a water park...that's too big, however, while I was in Texas
a couple of years ago, I was in a place called Kimah Bay...and they had the
cutest water fountain built into the ground that went off with the cadence
of the music being played on a small stage...the set up was nice for a
riverwalk type place but still small enough as to not make St. Bernard feel
like a big city...you really need to go see it. The fountain area was
surrounded by a reasonably sized two-story shopping facility with a couple
of restaurants, etc. You got the breeze off the bay. There was benches and
plants (reminding me a little like Jackson square, but less greenery). If
anyone else has been there chime in, but my bet that something less
grandeous and more taste than the riverwalk. Bigger is not always better.
Something on this scale would allow visitors to feel more at home- I know I
did in Kimah- and less like a tourist. As a result, I spent more money
because it wasn't a tourist "trap" but rather like being home. My
understanding is the Landry's from St. Bernard set up Kimah- not too sure
about that, but should be explored really. It's right inside the Texas
border by the coast- on the way to Houston. Save millions in architecture
fees, use almost the same design- maybe bigger/littler etc. but the concept
is there- saving time in planning and using it more in the doing. Just my
point of view!!!
