[StBernard] Gathering in Hammond

First, I apologize for all the bothering of emailing, posting on NOLA, phone
calls, updates, etc. I did this to keep it fresh in your minds knowing that
alot is going on with your lives. Here in Hammond, not being directly
affected by the storm, life has pretty much gotten to normal with a few
exceptions. Your life will be on hold for a long time and I thought the
constant reminders were a help.

NOLA has blocked me, even under a newer name, and I reset my cookies
thinking it would help and it has not. Until they release me from the
punish box, we have to communicate like this and I have to count on you for
the word to be spread.

Today Marvin LeBlanc, a State Farm Agent who is now living in the Wal Mart
parking lot, will ride his Honda Gold Wing to the party to discuss with you
guys what you are looking for in the rebuilding process. This is important,
not that the bike he is on may be a cool one, but that he has made the
effort to travel this far in one day to see what it is that has you
concerned. It is your parish, therefore you should be ready to give him
first-hand what it is that you desire from your representatives.

Addtionally, Amy, from the Hammond Daily Star will be here. She is
expecting, maybe eight months, so she will be sticking out (no pun intended)
to help us and be sure to touch base with her, thank her and try to get a
quote. I have not heard from Chuck Cook or Manual Torres in some while, but
they have received all the emails you guys have received, therefore they are
wall aware of it. Marvin informed me last night that there is something
going on in St. Bernard today, so they may be covering that event.

I will be leaving in a short while to purchase more drinks, ice, and
beverages. I ran an extension chord to the tabl e for the warmers, I have
one of those catering warmers and one with the heat light under it as well.
I am not that cultured, but I do have that stuff. Tonya purchased another
turkey to fry, but it is not thawed yet, so we may not have fried turkey.
She just wanted me to work harder!

The spacewalk has worn my Michelle down and she is so sore, so I think the
little kids, the non-adults, will enjoy it. The radio is stuck on 95.7 and
the chairs and tables are out. You can check the group site for some
pictures that I posted yesterday. I need to be on top of the Berryland
Camper guy coming today. I had some late phone calls for arrivals today, so
I am sure somewhere or somehow, maybe not all at one time, there will be
over 100 people today. Remember, this is the beginning. This is the first
one and I want to do more.

It is not important to have the booby prize or bring a Christmas Gift. It
is ok. Don't push, you have a great deal to deal with and just being here
is the most important issue for today. You have a great deal to be grateful
for: Thanksgiving, LSU and the fact you are going to be here.

For those of you who are not here, cannot come and have the desire to come,
pictures will be posted and I will ask that everyone here take and post
pictures later for everyone to view. I have two poster board boards for
everyone to sign. I will try, if I do not forget, to get a notebook for you
to sign your name, address, email, etc. so that I will have accurate
information to do this again and again.

Once again, don't forget the "pot luck" entree, you may need a chair, but
that is not a definate. Be here or be square.

I hope people start coming in by 11 AM.
