Gaby,

Sorry about the discouragement- to make it through the next several years it
will take a great amount of conviction and determination. Many will wait
and see and that is totally understandable. This thing is bigger than you
could ever imagine and what seems like limited vision is more likely to be
the frustration that we experience right with you everyday. I hope we can
continue to work at getting it right so that there is a reason for some to
return.

P.S. If you have any available time, we can use all the help we can find-
there are even some paid positions to be had.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

You said it there, 'serious about wanting us to return'. Unfortunately many
(soon to be ex) St Bernardians are now using their little funds and credit
chances to buy or build elsewhere as one cant rely on fema to pay rent, nor
do we have that kind of money to keep spending on nothing.
If we would know how to repair or rebuild right now, many would do so, but
not knowing if ones property is rebuildable forces one to embrace other
alternatives, often permanently displacing our ex residents into other
parishes. That is not good. four out of five people I talk to who are now
building, buying or bought, would have liked to return but did not do so
because of the uncertainty.
That saddens me. It seems as i f a return to ones current property is
discouraged by lack of information and lack of debris pick up. That is what
it looks like to many from the outside, even though our officials are
working, yet the vision is not visible to the wanna be residents.
Keep us informed and get us back home. Thanks a bunch.

I ask Mr. Rodriguez, as parish president, to drive and see for himself what
the conditions are. If he is serious about wanting people to return to the
parish, then this type of health hazard has to be addressed.>>
