6:45 PM: Chalmette/Lower Algiers Ferry Service to Reopen Wednesday: Disaster
Relief Update from State Senator Walter J. Boasso. The Chalmette/Lower
Algiers ferry service will resume partial service on Wednesday, December 21.
According to Crescent City Connection officials, the Mississipi River ferry
service at the Chalmette/Lower Algiers crossing is set to resume operations
tomorrow, with one ferry vessel operating from 6:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. daily.
The ferry will depart from Lower Algiers at 6:00 a.m. and every half hour
thereafter with the last trip at 5:00 p.m. The ferry will depart from
Chalmette at 6:15 a.m. and every 30 minutes thereafter with the last trip at
5:15 p.m.
