To comment on John Richardson's paragraph:

"There are too many homes that remain in the same condition as the day after
the flood. Many homeowners need more time to make a decision, however I
would bet the majority of those that have not gutted their homes have no
intention of returning, and are not considering the impact to those wishing
to rebuild in St. Bernard. "

I agree that too many homes remain in the same condition as the day after
the flood, mine is one of them, but it is NOT because I have no intention of
returning nor is it for lack of consideration of others, it is simply
because the government (on so many levels) have not given me the information
I need to make an intelligent decision.

I do not have the time or the money to gut my house right now. Every minute
counts and every penny counts. I have children to raise. I am in survival
mode and must first consider the immediate needs of my family.

Mr. Richardson's situation is probably different from most of the other
citizens in the Parish. If he lives in Corinne Estates, he probably has a
different financial situation than many others in the Parish.

It is wonderful that Mr. Richardson's situation allows him to get back into
his house, but he must consider that his situation is not the same as mine
nor many others in the Parish.

I am very homesick, but I am homesick for something that no longer exists.

Terry B.
