Mr. Hodges,

here are some answers to your questions as best as can be explained:

Questions about the zones:

-- Homes along the Guerenger Canal on the east bank of the canal from
Judge Perez to the 40 Arpent Canal.

** This one seems to be the east side of Cougar Dr.

Correct- this is the area behind the homes on the east sidde of Cougar and
possibly some of the east bank of the canal itself.

--Homes along the east side of the Chalmette Vista Canal to include
Village Square and the corridor from Judge Perez to the 40 arpent canal
along the canal.

** The Chalmette vista canal sits between Kings and DeLaRonde. The side
on DeLaRonde containd the multiplexes, across the street is mostly
duplexes.

I don't understand the Village Square part. This seems just to be stuck
in there to remove multifamily homes in the Village Square Area. However,
does this include the party-wall duplexes in the "parade" streets in the
back? Or is this just the large multi-plexes on Plantation and the like.

Utilizing the area as a drainage improvement may assist in attempting to
alleviate some of the drainage problems in the area jsut west of the canal.
the amount of damage to many of the already poor conditioned properties is
also a factor and the density of the area. the doubles have not been
included at this point, but there is other discussion about this that is
ongoing.

--Homes adjacent to the 40 Arpent Canal in adjacent [sic] to the
Versailles Industrial Park to include streets north of E. Liberaux to the
Delaronde Canal.

** Why was this area being targeted? I'm guessing because of
destruction. This looks like Dubarry, Pierre, and E. Magnolia. Plus the
ends of the other large streets that terminate in that area.

Yes, because of the damage, the density, and the location.

--Property along the east and west bank of the Delaronde from Judge Perez
Dr. to the 40 Arpent Canal.

** Golden and Delambert. Understandable.

--Homes on the north side of Judge Perez Dr. on Munster Blvd. and Bartolo
Dr.

** I can only assume that this is for reasons of an oil buffer zone. Why
wasn't Judy Dr. North of JP and Jumonville North included in this?

A primary issue for these streets is the sewer treatment plant at the end of
these streets- with a potential consolidation of sewer treatment, this issue
will only become more of a problem. Buffer zones are up to Murphy to buy
out.

These seems to fit into three categories: drainage, oil buffer zone, and
(?)getting rid of Village Square.

Are they building levees around the canals? Why obtain land around them?
And only some of them--what about the 20 Aprent, Eikes, Guichard, Corinne,
and Dubouchel canals?

There is not a design plabn at this point and the future of other canals may
be looked at as well as the plan comes together

The whole rebuilding discussion is a fluid process.

Any feedback that you would like to offer will be considered.

Craig
