The citizens of St. Bernard can truly expect this action to "suppress"
needed info to the public to have a very negative effect for Murphy. The
effect, this writer will deem "a boom-a-rang" movement. The oil spill is a
very serious event that needs tending away from any lawyers or
sensationalism brought on by the news media.

Besides Katrina, it ranks second as a devastating event. Having it kept
secretive as part of its mission to limit details, will surely "come back to
bite Murphy in its tank."

The public watches Murphy as its "neighbor" whose accountability and
responsibility could be questioned when the "complete truth" is brought out
at the trial. We can expect info coming out of Murphy to be just that:
Murphy's info.

Isn't that what you do when one wishes to limit the truth/details to the
populace? Pull the plug on information dissemenated to the public?

Happ(ier) New Year!

A response from Councilman Craig Taffaro:

Due to a court order that has been recieved by our parish attorney, who has
not shared such with the council to this point, it was ordered that all
Murphy Oil information be removed from the website.

During the next few days while I look into this matter further I will let
the public know my own non-government feelings about this action. This is an
obvious attempt to keep people in the dark and I think that the manipulation
of information should not be allowed. I wonder if the next step is to gag
EPA or ATSDR so that their information does not get to the public. I bet
other attorney websites have information related to the oil spill area but
information that supports their claim and agenda - how convenient.

To restrict information that is not sent with any bend in one direction or
another is a clear violation of the constitution, in my humble opinion. We
will be back with an update as soon as big brother gives us permission.

-Councilman Craig Taffaro
