Homeowners in Corinne Estates gathered to celebrate the new year and say
goodbye to 2005 on New Year's Eve. Hosted by the Goodsons at their
Kickstand Cafe in Mandeville, it was an opportunity to catch-up with
neighbors, many of whom have been residents in the subdivision since its
development in the late 1980s. Information on insurance, taxes, engineering
inspections, and the Murphy Oil Spill was also shared, as well as their
plans for the future.
An electronic directory is in the works and all residents are asked to
contact Karen and Ray Bouffine at 723-3460 or 810-5862 to update contact
information and to join an email list for email newsletters.
Many homes have been cleared of the household contents and everyone looks
forward to the return of Corinne Estates to the special place it was and
will be again. Everyone is also anxious for the day when the remaining cars,
white goods, and household items are entirely removed by the debris
contractors.
Corinne Estates is a subdivision with binding covenants and restrictions
on each property regarding house size, architectural features, fencing,
signage, etc. Businesses are asked to respect the restrictions of the
homeowners and refrain from posting signs on the neutral ground. Those who
nail signs to the oak trees are being called to remove their signs.
Businesses are welcome to leave their business cards at the houses if they
wish to advertise to Corinne Estate homeowners. Their thoughtfulness will be
greatly appreciated.
