I agreed to let Murphy perform a test on the exterior of my Gallo
Dr. home.
They said that I would receive a copy of the test results in 1 to 2
weeks.
It has been over a month and I have not received the results. I have
called,
left messages but no one returns the calls. Has anyone gotten copies
of the
test results from Murphy? Maybe they don't want to release something
that
may come back to haunt them!!!!!

Kenny

Kenny,
We had our property privately tested just to make sure the numbers match
with Murphy. As there is no independent party doing the testing... they are
all employed by Murphy. My husband is a Civil Engineer by trade and thought
it would be wise to get our own sampling done. So we took a camera, a few
baby food jars which had been boiled... and placed the soil in the baby jars
and labeled the outside of each ziploc and then sealed again with tape...
taking pictures the entire time.

We have a few results back for a few of the properties we had tested...
However we are still waiting on a few more results to come in. All I have
to say from what we have seen with these reports is the houses we tested are
in the oil spill line. Keep in mind the oil spill line is only as accurate
as the last tested property. We still have not heard from Murphy either...
however we are skeptical about the time frame. As we wish just to meet with
them and move on.

Murphy still has a crew in Chalmette performing daily testing of properties
and areas as a good friend of mine is on that crew.

I do feel that even if they wanted to publish this information it would be a
logistical nightmare and the other matter of educating the public as to what
they are seeing. If you find a disclosure law regarding these tests...
please post and let us know.

Right now... I think we are faced with taking the Murphy offer as my family
does not believe in class action... and we also feel this was an act of God.
After all our house was already flooded. We just have a little disagreement
as to who or whom will clean out our home. Considering it is hazardous
waste and we are not equipped as normal citizens to handle this type of
clean up.

Murphy has been a very good citizen in helping our Parish to rebuilt and
giving our Parish much needed seed money for projects to get off of the
ground. I do believe that Murphy is in this for the long haul. Why beat up
the messenger... after all... they are just trying to get us the results as
fast as they can. We did ours thru a private firm and we know the owner and
it still took 2-3 weeks to get the results.

Please if anyone our there can ask Murphy to publish at least a few of the
levels in key spots at least it will give the public some information. I
think lack of information for an extended period of time shows there is
something to hide. But we did find with our private report... Murphy did
not have anything to hide as yes there was a moderate amount of oil... both
inside and outside my home.
Thank you
Amanda
