[StBernard] TO GUT OR NOT TO GUT

Heather and Bobby,

Go sign up for the free gutting (save your money), then make the
decision. It's kind of a wait, but rumor has it they may also be spraying
for the mold problem after gutting. If after the gutting they say the house
is unsound, then worry about demolition.

Hope that helps.

Wendy

Craig,
Maybe you can help us out...we are torn about spending the money to get our
3 houses gutted. We really don't have the extra money to put out on gutting
it but we don't want to bulldoze until we get more definitive answers. We
don't mind putting the money out but we also don't want to be forced to make
decisions on rebuilding or bulldozing by March 31st, if we don't get answers
to some of our questions (ie. Murphy Oil, Buffer Zone, Baker Bill, etc.).

We also hate to put the money out if our houses are going to be considered
in the "buffer zone", which we were told by a couple of people that they all
are...rentals behind LP&L and Delambert & St. Jean Baptist.

The question is...IF we do gut the houses, and come March 31st...will those
houses be considered blighted? If they are cleaned up, gutted, grass cut and
fence around the pool??? We fully understand people's concerns of moving
back and having a bunch of empty houses...but we also don't want to put
thousands of dollars out on gutting it if we are going to be forced to make
decisions with a lot of unresolved issues.

Thanks,
Heather & Bubby
