[StBernard] old mail

All parish residents that have not been picking up their mail in Covington
and do not have a forwarding address, need to pick up their mail as soon as
possible after Monday's post office opening in Chalmette. Some mail is being
held over because the carriers believe the customers were not able to get to
Covington and have been waiting for the move back to St. Bernard. This mail
will not be held indefinitely.

Anyone who currently has a change of address on file with the post office,
but will now want to have their mail held at the Chalmette location needs to
cancel their forwarding order. If you have begun receiving mail directly to
your new address, but now want it to go back to St. Bernard, you need to put
in a forwarding order from your new address back to your original St.
Bernard address. Do not forward it care of the Chalmette Post Office. All
mail is being handled as though you are still receiving it at your
pre-Katrina address. There will not immediately be home delivery of the
mail but instead, it will be held for you at your local post office's
trailer in the front parking lot of the Chalmette Post Office. The carriers
look forward to seeing their customers once again.
