Call Public Works 278-4317 and request their assistance.  You may want to
also call Chris Merkl at 271-1681 and ask if he can help since the public
works director resigned last week.
 
I'll follow up on it as well.  I have requested that the displaced houses be
moved immediately, but there is (guess what) a FEMA hold up.

I hope you can help me or tell me where to go for help. My husband and I
want to start restoring a double we have at 525 Pierre St. in Chalmette, it
is right next to the canal. Anyway, there are three flooded abandoned cars
and a large container type storage unit on the lawn of this double. There
used to be only one car but people are starting to gut in the neighborhood
and I think they are pushing these things over by us. How do I get them
removed? I'm affraid more will accumulate. Also, when do you think the
demolishion will start, there is still a house on my front lawn on Bradbury
St. Thanks.
