[StBernard] Mexicans

So Ms Sdalon,

You are in favor of the people that I spoke of taking what little
resources from St. Bernard residents? Are you in favor of this 15,000 member
organized crime gang invading St. Bernard Parish? Most of the people I spoke
of are not volunteers, BUT PAID WORKERS OR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT BELONG IN ST.
BERNARD!!!! Second, I did not say ALL, just the ones that I WITNESSED taking
what little St. Bernard residents were getting as assistance. As to the
"smacks of prejudice" comment. Ma'am, you don't know me, the work that I
have done for ALL minoroities. I have helped several people of all races get
scholarships, when financial aide was needed in order not to be put out of
school and sent back to their country. I have helped countless people of all
races with child support issues, when dead beat parents didn't step up to
the plate, and I WAS discriminated against by Sheriif Foti's office for no
other reason than because I was a woman, sued and was awarded a judgement.
My anger isn't at the help, those who belong in St. Bernard, those who are
here to work, or here to help, it isn't at people of a certain race, it is
at the thievery I have watched that was stolen from St. Bernard parish
people. I watched the dad tell his daughter (age 17-21) tell her to get
further back in line, and watched his wife stand separately. I watched all
three collect the allotted amount of products for the day. I also watched
them load up and leave with triple the amount of goods. As I left, I saw the
same van, dropping the husband off to work on parish road after lunch time
and she departed (I was at Shorty's getting a po-boy). If you lumped
yourself into that catagory, my question to you is why would you? Second, I
am not making up the MS-13 gangs, or their arrests. Do you believe that
MS-13 is here to volunteer to help you rebuild your home? Are you a memeber
of their organization? If not, why did you lump yourself into the catagory I
described. Like many African Americans, you didn't see the forest passed the
trees. You assumed racism because you saw "mexican." The US is built as a
nation of refugees, and those that have come to be a part of the help are
not "mexican" but rather citzens. I differentiate in only those that have
come to just help themselves and not the population as a whole. If you are
here to help, you're american, regardless of nationality. My offer to you is
this, how about this, we call MS-13 to come and handle the few posessions
you have left, gut your home, and watch over you for a few days since you
you feel that they were wronged. Would you feel safe knowing that they know
you are a single woman in a house with little population? What if you found,
with their efforts, a number of valuables that were salvagable, would you
feel safe with them in your house and knowing what you have?
As to the "people who stole their land" comment, ma'am I have never
stolen anything from anyone. Like slavery, the past is in the past. And
while I agree that native americans were not properly treated, like slavery,
how much was brought on by their own demise? Africans sold africans into
slavery, indians sold indians into slavery, helped the early prejudices
along with issues from "firewater," and that they scalped each other. As I
said, if you feel safe having the people I have described work in your home,
that's your choice. However, I am a single mother of three and do not want
that choice to come back and haunt me. And my name is Wendy Hall and still
stand by my original thoughts, they just may not have been completely
illustrated.
