Catholic Charities is serving hundreds of families every day.
Catholic Charities has distributed more than 50 million pounds of food.
Catholic Charities is providing monetary assistance of 200,000 dollars per
week on average.
Catholic Charities organized 3000 young adult volunteers who have gutted the
homes of the elderly and removed debris.
If you go by Prompt Succor or any of the other 8 emergency assistance
centers any morning during business hours, you will see the long lines. In
the first week after Katrina, there were hundreds of people lined up every
day for assistance at the Catholic Life Center in Baton Rouge. And remember,
many of the Catholic Charities wokers were victims of the storm just like
us. Lack of Pastoral Care? What utter nonsense.
