Ah, so many of the "buyouts" proposed are adjacent to apartments, who had
no investments to lose, but a few clothes and pieces of furniture. Sure,
they lost as well, but planning as such involved knowing which had the least
to lose, either apartment dwellers or depressed areas next to canals? The
rest have to fend for themselves? We have seen the destruction of St.
Bernard and all is pitifully depressed, but above Genie St. was one
"depressed area that needed addressing. Strange how they are avoided like
the plague - by Murphy and governments, including buyouts, trailers,
sanitation/debris removal, etc. About the only attention they've gotten over
the past years was whether or not a stop sign needed placing or removing.
Depressing...in light of Fed. Government missing the point with funding..
Jer.
