TO WHOM: be aware that people are calling and identifying themselves as
someone with IRS. They offer grants of 5000.00 and 12,000.00. DO NOT GIVE
ANY INFORMATION TO THEM. Report this to the officials immediately. Thank
you and have a nice day.

Ben

I would like to report that on 2 separate occasions some one has contacted
me through my cell phone claiming to want to give me a government grant.
Both times it was a foreign voice. They called from a # that registered on
my caller id as 200. They said they got my information from the IRS and
that I was eligible for a $12000.00 grant. I was only to provide them with
my bank routing # and the check would be automatically deposited. They also
said the following day I would receive a Fed Ex package with all the info.
for this. Needless to say I did not provide them with this info. and when I
refused they asked if I was afraid because of the amount of funds in my
account. I told them I was not interested in participating and that I did
not think it was legitimate and hung up. They called back a week later and
offered $5000.00 as the grant this time. I told them I was busy and could I
call them back, but they refused to give a #. I hung up at this point. I
am reporting this, because we are from St. Bernard and if they got my info.
they could get other persons who are in dire straits at present and may be
inclined to give their banking info. I hope that people would be more
cautious, but sometimes in times of trouble you are not thinking properly
and would jump at the chance for any kind of assistance. Please do what you
can to make people aware of this scam..

Westley, I sent this to the BBB but I know people will be informed through
your site.
Thanks for passing it on. Cherie
