Whoa, major typo!

Meant to say Council has been promising online viewing of Council meetings
for months.

The parish has online viewing of Council meetings for several months.

Considering it takes over a month to get the Minutes posted to the website,
I, for one, have given up on seeing any video of a Council meeting on the
Internet.

** Lori, as former webmaster, I'm sure these procedings and other important
events could have been placed on-line as RealAudio/Realone or "streaming"
files for the populace.

This has not been done by current "website standards" at parish government.

We all have computers who are reading either Westley's web board messages or
the "new" parish website. However, video can be converted to streaming
video/audio to disseminate to St. Bernard Citizens (even outside of the
greater New Orleans area). Knowing our citizens, Yes, we are interested in
seeing these meetings (as the 85% of the populace) have their homes and
hearts in the parish.

Many who have not seen or wasn't interested in even viewing the council and
other relevant meetings pre-Katrina are NOW interested in viewing EVERY
meeting if the tag has "St. Bernard Parish" on it. <smile>

Parish videographer, Ken Winters and I have discussed it prior to Katrina.
It's been posted in an interview of his in a Time-Picayune interview, so
it's possible to happen at some point. Hopefully soon. With 80% or more of
citizens outside of the parish, the need has never been greater than now.
