"Is it possible that the MRGO will never be closed because of NASA using
this waterway for getting the space shuttles delivered to Florida? Our
parish president, stated in a speech to a local high school in the earlier
part of 2005 that the MRGO, "had to go". What has changed since then and
why? --CLM"

**Perhaps it's been Mr. Rodriguez. Almost as if his pre-Katrina illness has
knocked the "punch" out of him. Pre-Illness, he would have been extremely
passionate and proactive towards getting his 30 year-old dream to close it
not allow anything to get in his way.

His election platform drew voters to the polls which probably helped elect
him. Then, he added "advisors" who in all probabilty asked him to shush when
it comes to dealing with the government in the face of losing aid. We can't
say that this all is true, but if he's compromised that planned effort with
advise to keep calm and you'll get more from the federal government in aid,
then that could be the reason as to why "What has changed then, and why?"

..someday the truth shall be told.
