[StBernard] Homes near 40 arpent canal need HELP!

We were kind of glad as we want to return. We must be crazy.

	Well - I just don't understand the proposed plan by the parish.  The
homes
	closest to the 40 arpent canal are being ignored.  Our homes took
the first
	hit of the tidal surge but yet we are not in our parishes proposal
for
	mitigation.  What is up with this?  Homes near the 40 arpent canal
have been
	wiped clean off their foundations as well as knocked down to the
ground but
	it seems those in power are more concerned with Village Square than
its
	residents.  Why VIllage Square?  Why not homes near the 40 arpent
canal
	across the parish.  
	
	Craig - can you tell me why the areas near the 40 arpent canal are
not being
	turned into some sort of green space to help with storm surge for
future
	hurricanes?  I'm just feeling really frustrated with the parish that
I grew
	up in and have loved so much.  
	
	I have heard rumors about a Florida Avenue Corridor.  That may
happen one
	day but I'm not worried about one day I'm worried about TODAY!
