HUTTER ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY MEETING

 

 

            State Representative Nita Rusich Hutter announces the next
community meeting that will be held on Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. until
noon at Nunez Community College.  The meeting will be located in the library
on the second floor of the Arts and Science Building. 

            Federal, state, and local officials are scheduled to give
updates.   Lt. Commander Yuri Graves of the U.S. Coast Guard will discuss
the cleanup of parish canals and waterways.  Secretary of the Department of
Wildlife & Fisheries, Dwight Landreneau, will inform us of his department's
preparation for the upcoming hurricane season.  Parish President Henry J.
Rodriguez, Jr., and District "E" Councilman Tony "Ricky" Melerine, will
provide local government updates.  Dr. Tommy Warner, Chancellor of Nunez
Community College, will also provide information regarding the college's
status. 

            This is the third community meeting to inform and discuss with
parish residents recovery efforts on the local, state and federal levels.
