[StBernard] are we safe

Are we safe, Jer asks. Well, that's a relative term. Dallas was flooded last
week because it got six inches of rain in a day. Tornado Alley residents in
the Mid-West fear peak tornado season every year and they come with little
time to evacuate. Forest fires break-out in the western states consuming
whole subdivisions because someone tossed a cigarette. California is
counting down to the next big earthquake. Today the weather experts say the
Atlantic Coast is looking probable for its turn to get a record Cat 4 or 5
hurricane based on the current weather patterns, so Washington, DC, built on
a swamp, might get a taste of Katrina post stress syndrome.

When somebody finds a safe place, please tell me. I have to stay put for
about another decade before I retire and I'm looking for a safe house to
ride out in my old age. Suggestions welcome. ddk
