[StBernard] abandoned property

Explain to me why I should spend time money and effort into gutting and/or
rebuilding when I still don't have the protection required to survive
another storm season?
The levee system is in shambles. the state and federal govts are playing
razoo with the money and plans of what to do with it are about as complete
as the rebuilding process.
I have signed up for gutting by volunteers. I live out of state and cannot
get in to gut the home myself. If voulunteers cannnot do it, then yes, my
property will sit abandoned until someone comes up with a firm plan of
action. All we hear are possible plans-buyouts and green space and class
action suits. Give me something firm to work with and then I will consider
whether to rebuild or not. Nothing firm, well then nothing done.
The government is funded by us, the taxpayers, and we elected them to
provide what is neccesary to maintain our parish. Instead of worrying about
saving trees, thay oughta be worried about saving the damn parish.
Keep this little thought in mind- No taxpayers, no taxes.
No taxes, no parish. You want trees, you are welcome to the dead trees
sitting on my front lawn along with the debris and vehicles as well!
