Deborah,

I am not sure that this is all accurate- white goods have been picked up by
URG for some time. I'll get the actual change in this process confirmed-
but I know that Murphy was not finished in the oil spill area and make it
known what is next.

I was minding my own business watering my garden today when a nice guy from
LA DEQ came by inspecting the neighborhood and we started talking.
He said that starting March 31, Murphy is no longer driving down the
streets picking up everything except white goods as they did for the last
several months in the oil spill area. The logic is that homes that were in
the oil spill area have been gutted and oil tainted goods have been put
curbside and picked up already. They will only come to homes that are in the
oil spill and just gutting and they will come only to that home's address
after they are notified. He said that means everything else in the Murphy
Oil Spill is for URG to pick up.

I have to agree that Murphy shouldn't bear the cost to dispose of my
neighbor's roof material because it didn't have oil on it nor the new
construction material that is appearing as we all start rebuilding. My only
comment was to ask if this was well-known and he said yes that it was made
clear at the weekly debris meetings the parish has with all the parties. I
then said that somebody needs to make it known publicly to the oil spill
homeowners so that those who start to gut know that URG won't take it and
that they have to let Murphy know because Murphy isn't riding the streets
automatically picking debris up wherever they see it.

Craig-first, is this DEQ guy correct and second, whenwill it be publicized
so that those in the oil spill area know? And third, will URG be coming to
the oil spill areas to pick up the white goods, general debris, and new
construction debris on a routine basis, since we weren't on their routes
before March 31?
