A day set aside is a good idea, but neighbors can help neighbors every day.
It only helps themselves.  My husband cut the lawns (weeds) of 3 of our
neighbors.  He says it keeps the weeds from taking over the neighborhood and
helps it look a little better.  The neighbors may not be there right now,
but why not help out in any way we can.

That sounds like a sound idea.  The first of the debris pick up will begin
in the a.m. of the 6th and continue to ramp up through next week.  The more
important thing is that the funding issue should no longer be a hold up to
keep the crews on the road.  So we can plan it for sometime in May.
 
And we can always have more than one.
