I feel horrible about the shape my property is in. I live a state away and
have a baby to care for. My husband works six days a week and we only have
one vehicle. The icing on the cake is that is not the main reason the house
is untouched. The main reason is we cannot get the insurance company to
return our calls or send someone out. We met with someone on February 12th.
He estimated $3000. We have leaks in all of our ceilings, one ceiling has a
5 foot hole. He was not replacing the roof, just the shingles; even though
you can see the sky from the attic. He was not giving us carpets or any
contents. We have requested arbitration and another adjuster to no avail. We
have to remember that even though we all faced the same catastrophe we did
not all end up in the same boat. As soon as we get it all squared away we
will have it taken care of. I do not think people are deliberately
abandoning their property, or at least I hope that is not the case. We need
to trust in the human spirit instead of assuming people are shirking their
responsibilities.

Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission. -Eleanor
