Sue,

Be careful. The issue is about the pre 1974 homes is about if they were
grandfathered in at 1974. If they were grandfathered in in 1974 because
they were non-compliant and were damaged more than 50% in this event then
there needs to be something done to bring the property into compliance to
the 1974 standards. If it is not permitted before new maps are established
and the property was grandfathered in, the property will then be required to
be compliant with the new maps.

This means that if you were grandfathered in in 1974 and you were damaged
more than 50% you need to get a survey, establish your elevation and then
submit to community development for a ruling on the property to see if there
is a need to increase compliance for the property.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

If I heard right you will only be grandfather in once, if you were
grandfather in, in 1974 then you cannot do this again, A lot of our parish
houses are older then this. I know my subdivision was started in 1967 and
Valmar and Frances Place were already there. So would it make sense for us
to start rebuilding before the new code comes out?
Sue
