June 1st is not the deadline for doors and windows.  There is a process that
will be followed to first identify the houses that have not made any move,
including signing up for gutting, regarding the future of the house.  Once
that process is clear and the direction of the recovery is more clear houses
will have to be maintained to a certain level.
 
I understand your concerns and the issue of what to do next is frustrating
to so many people.  If all you do is gut it and keep the grass from turning
into a jungle, I think you will have some time to take care of other things.

What do we in Buccaneer North do, if June 1st is a deadline for having doors
and windows in our property?   I do not intend to spend money to do that
unless I would be assured that it would not be in the mitigation area and
would remain property as it is.  If we put money in it we would never get it
back, its bad enough that the insurance companies, FEMA and SBA are giving
people problems much less the PARISH telling us to do work if they know it
will be green space or something else.  Please reply.
