Bob Turner, Lake Borgne Levee Disrtrict Director, reports that the drainage
can handle about 2 inches for the first hour and then about 1 inch after,
which is down from pre-storm ability in the periods after the first hour by
about 50%.  So an all day deluge could create some localized street
flooding- homes that were plagued with thsi issue before the storm will
likely continue to have some of the same problems, but most homes that did
not flood from rain water should make out without any real problems-
notwithstanding a tropical depression/storm event with much more rain.
 
Anyone who is aware of a blocked drain would be of great assistance to
report it to 278-4317.
