In an effort to inform citizens on the key principles of the housing
program, the LRA partnered with LPB to produce this one-hour television
program that will help to clarify key parts of The Road Home. Louisiana
Public Square is a one-hour community dialogue program which airs monthly on
LPB stations throughout Louisiana.

The format for the program will be a panel/ forum setting where panelists
will interact with audience members and answer questions about the housing
program. The segment was taped before a live studio audience that included
homeowners, renters and residents from Southeast and Southwest Louisiana who
were impacted by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Panelists will also include
LRA Housing Taskforce Chairman Walter Leger, Task Force Vice Chair Senator
Diana Bajoie and FEMA Deputy Director for Gulf Coast Recovery Gil Jamieson.

Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated South Louisiana, destroying more than
200,000 homes and 18,000 businesses and inflicting about $25 billion in
insured losses. The Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA) is the planning and
coordinating body that was created in the aftermath of these storms by
Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco to lead one of the most extensive
rebuilding efforts in the world. The LRA is a 33-member body which is
coordinating across jurisdictions, supporting community recovery and
resurgence, ensuring integrity and effectiveness, and planning for the
recovery and rebuilding of Louisiana.
