Are the vacant, untouched businesses in the parish going to be required to
follow the same rules and timetables for windows, doors, cleaning and grass
cutting as residential property? Some people may be interested in buying
commercial property for future use, and as long as the property owners of
these untouched businesses are not required to make any improvements, they
may sit indefinitely. Some business owners that were renting/leasing
property prior to Katrina, may be interested in buying land or an existing
building to restart their business, rather than continuing to rent/lease.
Should not businesses or landlords be forced to follow the same guidelines
as the residential community?
