---I realize you don't want to live next to homes that are still full of
gunk,
but have you talked to your neighbors in the last nine months? How close
are they to St. Bernard that they could find a day here or there to work on
it?
We keep in touch with our neighbors. One elderly couple raising a grand
daughter and taking care of one of their parents, live in Alabama. They
have made trips to come & gut their house. They aren't able to come every
week-end, but at least they are making an effort. Another neighbor lives in
Baton Rouge and is not planning on coming back. They come just about every
Sunday and try to come during the week to gut their home. Initially, we
were not sure whether we were going to come back, but we came and cleaned
our house, anyway. Leaving it like that was just not an option. Spending
weeks in October & every week-end since, cleaning a disgusting house and
tending to issues relating to it, was not in my plans at this stage of my
life. But, hey, we had to deal with it. And then again, cutting about 9 of
our neighbor's lawns (weeds) to keep them from looking like a jungle, was
not in my husband's plans. Just taking out th e refrigerators (to keep the
rodents away) and cutting the grass & getting rid of the marsh grass (to
keep the snakes away) would be a big help.

Westley, could it be that the reason that you haven't seen a trailer in your
neighborhood is because you were in the oil area & FEMA wouldn't put
trailers there ? We only have 3 on our block & that was the reason given.
