BATON ROUGE, La. (May 22, 2006) - Last week's episode of "Louisiana Public
Square," which focused on Louisiana's housing program, known as The Road
Home, is now online so that Louisiana homeowners who missed the statewide
broadcast can see it.

The program features Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco and other panelists
answering tough questions from residents and homeowners about Louisiana's
housing program. In an effort to inform citizens on the key principles of
the housing program, the Louisiana Recovery Authority partnered with
Louisiana Public Broadcasting to produce this one-hour television program
that will help to clarify key parts of The Road Home. Louisiana Public
Square is a one-hour community dialogue program which airs monthly on LPB
stations throughout Louisiana.

The segment was taped before a live studio audience that included
homeowners, renters and residents from Southeast and Southwest Louisiana who
were impacted by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Panelists also included LRA
Housing Taskforce Chairman Walter Leger, Task Force Vice Chair Senator Diana
Bajoie and FEMA Deputy Director for Gulf Coast Recovery Gil Jamieson.

The Road Home provides financial assistance for homeowners to get back into
their homes and creates powerful incentives to rebuild rental properties so
that everyone can have a chance to come home. The LRA estimates that more
than 50,000 homeowners still need to register for the program. Homeowners
can register online at www.louisianarebuilds.info or by calling
1-888-762-3252.

Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated South Louisiana, destroying more than
200,000 homes and 18,000 businesses and inflicting about $25 billion in
insured losses. The Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA) is the planning and
coordinating body that was created in the aftermath of these storms by
Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco to lead one of the most extensive
rebuilding efforts in the world. The LRA is a 33-member body which is
coordinating across jurisdictions, supporting community recovery and
resurgence, ensuring integrity and effectiveness, and planning for the
recovery and rebuilding of Louisiana.
