I was just curious to see if there are any people who lived in this
subdivision on this list. We lived on Oak Drive and have not been able to
gut our house because I am disabled and my husband is running our store on
Magazine Street and taking care of me.

I was wondering if anyone from Oak Ridge knew approximately how many people
are coming back? I know we are recommended for green space, but the last
time we were out there it seemed like there were at least a few people on
Oak Drive who were rebuilding.
We aren't sure what we are going to do just yet. I don't want to waste
someone's precious time and energy gutting our home if it is just going to
have to be demolished anyway. I am also thinking of just going ahead and
demolishing it because I don't trust that the mold will ever truly be
eradicated from the studs and with my health issues, I really can't risk
something like that if we do decide to rebuild...and if we sell it to
someone else, I don't want them to live in a possibly mold-infested house.
What are all of your opinions on the Gulf Outlet? This is one of our major
concerns. If we rebuild and they do not close MRGO or if they do as shoddy
of a job on the levees as they did pre-Katrina, I don't want to go through
all of this again in 5 or 10 or 20 years. Am I alone in my concern?
I miss my house. I miss my neighborhood. I miss my neighbors, even though we
weren't there long enough to *really* get to know them (we moved in October
2004). I miss the feral kitty we used to feed under our carport. I miss the
two beloved cats that were too old (15- and they were brother and sister...I
had them for 12 1/2 years) to survive the stress and trauma of moving 5
times from Aug 28 - March 16. I guess I just miss my life.
Take care, all.
