There is no requirement for soda blasting and the hard wire issue is
connected to new construction issues, not repairs.

Craig can be the final authority on this, but I think those Yankees up
there, or whoever you are talking to are smoking something.  I haven't heard
of anything that says you have to have soda blasting, sanding, or hard wired
fire alarms.
