We signed up for demolition of our property on Alexander Avenue (Arabi) on
Saturday, 5/27/06.   Our home will have to be demolished since it moved up
the block and is now sitting on someone else's lawn.   We explained to the
Community Development office that the Garage / Workshed / Large Carport and
another Structure is still on our lot (100% damaged) and we wanted those
structures demolished also.   The person taking our form at the Community
Development office stated that the "Parish" is only concerned with
demolishing the homes, not additional structures on your property.

The person at the CD office put the on the form, "Owners would like
additional property (on their lot) also demolished".    Next to this
statement -- we had to "initial" another statement she wrote on the form
that our request to demolish additional structures "was not guaranteed."
WHY IS THIS?

You would think that if the SBP government wanted totally destroyed homes
(100% damaged) demolished, they would also want to demolish additional
structures to the same property !!

If they do not demolish the other structures, as requested, will we have to
get someone else to destroy the additional property?   Is St. Bernard
getting paid by FEMA for the destruction of each property?   If so,
shouldn't "ALL" destroyed structures on the property be demolished (not just
the HOME) ?

Advise us as soon as you can !
