John,

Hopefully by now you are seeing some movement in the debris issue. Also,
the stickering program started and there are cars being towed everyday. If
you do not see a yellow sticker on an abandoned car, call it in to me
401-3654 and we will get it stickered for towing.

Good luck and God Bless,
Craig

Last night as we were returning home around 9pm, at the corner of Charles
Drive and Genie Street, and then again at the corner of Genie and Corinne
Avenue we saw a rat running across the street from one pile of debris to the
other. What is the true story behind the lack of clean-up in this area?
Six weeks ago this coming Thursday, the bobcat operator working for Murphy
jammed her equipment and they stopped for the day promising to return the
next day. No one has picked up trash in the first two blocks of Corinne
Estates since that time. The rumor was that the debris is now a result of
rebuilding, not gutting, so Murphy is no longer handling the clean-up
effort. If anyone would take the time to drive down the street they would
see that the majority of the debris is still storm related. I would suspect
that one more thorough clean-up and monthly clean-ups thereafter should be
adequate. I also believe that Murphy should replace the soil on the neutral
grounds that were damaged during the prior clean-ups.

Also, not to beat a dead horse, but why is it that New Orleans is having
FEMA pay for the removal of those cars ticketed by the police, yet St.
Bernard has yet to start placing stickers on abandoned vehicles? There is a
red pick-up on the neutral ground at the corner of Genie and Corinne that
has been sitting there since the storm, and should be removed, if for no
other reason, to clean up the area around it.

Can you provide a nudge to "whomever" and have the debris, including the
truck, picked up? This is an obvious health hazard and the rats will only
continue to populate as long as the debris remains?

Thank you for your usual attention to these matters.

John
